The Matrimandir Viewing Point, south of the Park of Unity, is a raised garden area which offers visitors a beautiful view of the Matrimandir and its surroundings.

General information on the Matrimandir can be obtained every day at the Information Desk at the Visitors Centre, 9.00 am-1.00 pm and 1.30 pm–5.00 pm. This includes an introductory video on the Matrimandir offered in various languages.

The Sri Aurobindo Ashram is a spiritual community located in Pondicherry, in the Indian territory of Puducherry. The ashram grew out of a small community of disciples who had gathered around Sri Aurobindo after he retired from politics and settled in Pondicherry in 1910. On 24 November 1926, after a major spiritual realization, Sri Aurobindo withdrew from public view in order to continue his spiritual work. At this time he handed over the full responsibility for the inner and outer lives of the sadhaks and the ashram to his spiritual collaborator, "the Mother", earlier known as Mirra Alfassa. This date is therefore generally known as the founding-day of the ashram, though, as Sri Aurobindo himself wrote, it had “less been created than grown around him as its centre

The Auroville Beach is close to Auroville in Pondicherry town. Located around 12 kms from the main Puducherry Town, off the East Coast Road (ECR) just opposite the road leading to Auroville. Its shallow waters and small waves make it an ideal place for swimming. It is a fairly popular destination on weekends. On weekdays, it is relatively less crowded. There are two monuments of historical importance on the beach.

An ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is there hosting Magakaleswarar, Maga Kalanathar and goddesses Mathura Sundara Nayagi and Kuil Mozhiyammai. This temple has ancient records written by Thirugnanasambantha Swamigal. This Shivasthalam temple is 9 km from Pondicherry on Pondicherry—Tindivanam bus route. Another Paadal Petra Sthalam Tiruarisili is 5 km northwest of this Sthalam. .
